Another Prank story when in Vietnam. I worked in the S2 section of a mechanized battalion and at least one day a week a trip was made to our brigade headquarters about 30 minutes away to exchange intel. Road to it was dirt and often not in the best shape. Usually in the treeline along the road, anywhere from 800 to 400 yds away, you could expect a sniper to be waiting to make your ride interesting. A couple of times some sniper managed to put a few rounds close enough to my jeep for me to hear the bullet zip past while I bounced down the road going as fast as I could go.
One day my E-7 S2 sergeant and I were leaving brigade when we spotted the sergeant incharge of our Bn sniper squad.
